Officially named the Telecaster in February 1951, the world’s first successful solid-body electric guitar turns 60. The Tele® revolutionized guitar playing, changed the sound of music and has become a signature instrument for guitarists worldwide.The 60th Anniversary Telecaster packs more than half a century of classic sound and design into one collectible U.S.-made instrument.
As if that wasn't enough in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Fender Telecaster, 12 different models are being created. These unique Telecaster guitars will be released in limited runs of 500 throughout 2011 & 2012 starting in May 2011.

Features include an ash body, tinted maple neck and fretboard with modern 9.5” radius and medium jumbo frets, American Vintage Telecaster single-coil pickups, modern tuners, American Standard bridge with bent steel saddles and stamped brass plate, black pickguard, Blackguard Blonde thin-skin lacquer finish, commemorative neckplate, and Fender/SKB® molded case.

Old Growth Redwood Tele IN STORE NOW
Fender’s Old-Growth Redwood Telecaster is hewn from reclaimed centuries-old Northern California redwood that has aged into a fantastically strong and resonant tonewood. Salvaged from various buildings and other structures, the wood bears the historical knots, nail holes, bruises and other badges of more than a century of well-seasoned use, giving an individual stamp and unique appeal and character to each guitar. The result is a highly distinctive take on the venerable Telecaster.
