We're Back! - post-lockdown routines

We're FINALLY back and ready to rock and roll again!

So, chances are that you've spent the last three months working on your runs, licks and chops and you've improved as a player, right?  Or maybe you binged on boxsets and have discovered that Duvet Days now make up a massive part of your weekly schedule?  Well however you coped with lockdown it's probably safe to say that you, and the rest of the world, have changed how you do things.  Here at Cookes we've had to change our routines too, so here's a little insight as to what we're doing on the shop floor post-lockdown:

  • Reduced opening hours for now - things will slowly return to normal over the coming weeks
  • All customers coming into the store will be encouraged to use the alcohol hand gel we provide
  • Floor markings now indicate safe gaps in which to stand, so you can maintain social distancing
  • We may choose to limit the number of customers allowed in store at any one time, for the safety of all customers and staff
  • We'll politely ask you not to handle instruments unless you are seriously considering a purchase - just to minimise the risk of cross-contamination
  • If you try an instrument, we'll first ask you to cleanse your hands with hand gel
  • Demo'd instruments will be quarantined after use.  Staff will then deep clean and sanitise the instrument before being returned to its wall hanger

As well as these safety measures, we're also changing a few of our 'behind the scenes' routines too, including:

  • Noticeably reduced staff levels while trade starts to normalise - please be patient with us if you don't get an immediate answer when trying to contact us
  • A temporary pause on offering guitar setups and repairs - our tech will be busy with the cleaning regime mentioned above, just for the time being
  • Amp repairs are undertaken off-site by our authorised repair agent and are unaffected by the changes, so these can be brought in and left with us as previously
  • Possible delays in special orders - many of our suppliers are still not running at full capacity yet, so we'll do our best to order in your chosen equipment as quickly as we can and promise to give you timescales and updates as we get them

So we're really trying our best to give you the service you need in these very unusual times, and we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we move forward.  So keep safe, keep playing and come and see us soon!
