The 35 Series is for the serious player who can appreciate a whole new world of subtle tone colours and dynamic range and is comprised of 23 different models that are delineated by their wood combination. Every Lowden guitar is built to order.
This Lowden F35CBORWVTC features a Sinker Redwood top. Sinker redwood is old growth Redwood (Sequoia Sempervirens) from Northern Califonia which have fallen into rivers and lakes. They submerge into the silt and in this oxygen free enviroment slowly absorb the minerals without rotting. This gives amazing visual coulouration whilst acoustically adding more depth and tone which is often described as being like 'Cedar on steriods!'.
Bog Oak (Querus Robur) back and sides compliments the Sinker top like no other wood we could imagine. Much like the Sinker redwood top the bog oak is old growth wood which has become submerged in peat bogs for many centruries and often many thousands of years. This slow maturing of the wood draws in minerals and colouration into the wood making it a real visual treat. Acoustically not a million miles away from rosewood with a very balanced tone.
The woods used in the 35 series are also of a higher grade (always AAAA if not higher) and the aesthetic appointments are more complex than basic 2X models.
The bindings of this 35 series are stunning and are crafted in figured maple.
This 35 Series guitar also has Maple, rosewood & mahogany purflings on the sides as well as the top, an abalone/ebony rosette, a maple bound ebony fingerboard, ebony front and back headstock facings and a 1mm thick back centre seam.
This F35 has a cutaway with extended detailed fretboard.
