Jones Double Reeds

Jones Double Reed Products (JDRP) has been crafting oboe and bassoon reeds for more than fifty years.

The company began on the kitchen table of Dr. Wendal Jones, who, in the 1960s, started making reeds for his students at the University of Arizona. As word spread, professional double reed players and school music directors began requesting reeds from him as well.

Driven by curiosity and a desire for precision, Dr. Jones sought out machinery to streamline the reed-making process. When he discovered that only basic equipment existed at the time, he took it upon himself to design and build the specialized tools needed to produce high-quality reeds.
