The Flight Iris 8 Tenor is an eight-string ukulele and marks Flight’s first venture into multi-string instruments. Featuring four courses of paired strings—octave Gs, octave Cs, and unison Es and As (Gg Cc EE AA; with both high- and low-G)—this ukulele delivers a rich, dynamic sound that sets it apart from traditional models.

While tuning takes a bit more time than with a standard four-string ukulele, playing feels quite familiar. Your fingers naturally treat each course of two strings as a single, thicker string, so the adjustment is minimal.

Like the standard Flight Iris Concert and Tenor models, the Iris 8 features a painted solid spruce top paired with laminate mahogany back and sides. It also includes a slotted headstock, rear-facing Der Jung tuners, a 45mm nut, compensated saddle, fluorocarbon strings, offset front position markers, and a pickguard. A deluxe gig bag is included for protection and portability.

Setting the Iris 8 apart, however, is its built-in active pickup—allowing you to easily amplify your sound and share your music wherever you go.
