A Tribute to the Guitar Legend’s Iconic Flying V

Widely hailed as one of the most groundbreaking guitarists in rock history, Jimi Hendrix™ redefined what was possible with the electric guitar. Now, in collaboration with Gibson Custom and the Hendrix family, Epiphone proudly presents the Jimi Hendrix “Love Drops” Flying V™—an “Inspired by Gibson Custom” recreation of the unique guitar Hendrix played extensively between 1967 and 1969.

Originally finished in Sunburst, Hendrix transformed his Gibson™ Flying V by refinishing it in Ebony and adorning it with hand-painted psychedelic artwork—faithfully reproduced on this model.

This striking instrument features a mahogany body and a one-piece mahogany neck with a rounded C profile, paired with a laurel fretboard and 22 medium jumbo frets. The 1967-style Flying V headstock bears the "Inspired by Gibson Custom" logo and a reproduction of Jimi's signature.

Premium components include Epiphone Deluxe tuners, a short Maestro™ Vibrola™, and high-quality electronics: two Gibson Custombucker™ humbuckers, CTS® potentiometers, a Mallory™ tone capacitor, and a Switchcraft® 3-way toggle and 1/4" output jack.

Each guitar comes with an Epiphone hardshell case featuring both the Inspired by Gibson Custom and Authentic Hendrix™ logos.
