This is what Taylor Guitars say about the Gold Label 717e:
Blending a reimagined round-shoulder dreadnought body with time-honored tonewoods, refined internal voicing, and a groundbreaking neck design, the Gold Label 717e represents an exciting evolution in our Gold Label Collection. This model features solid Indian rosewood back and sides paired with a torrefied Sitka spruce top, all supported by a fanned variant of our V-Class bracing. The Grand Pacific body shape measures a full five inches deep at the soundhole—3/8" deeper than the standard version—delivering enhanced low-end power, projection, and a rich, rounded tonal character. Rosewood’s lush overtones are further sweetened by the torrefied top, adding a touch of vintage warmth and played-in charm.
Enhancing this traditional sonic profile is our innovative long-tenon Action Control Neck™, which improves the connection between neck and body for greater low-end response and allows for precise action adjustments. Simply access the neck bolt through the soundhole to tailor string height to your preference.
Premium appointments include a Honduran rosewood Curve Wing bridge with matching bridge pins, cream binding, a coordinating single-ring rosette, Crest fretboard inlays, a newly refined headstock shape, firestripe pickguard, and a high-gloss finish. The 717e comes equipped with LR Baggs Element VTC electronics and ships in a deluxe hardshell case with a British Cocoa exterior.
