This pre loved Faith Mars FRSB45 in Sunburst is in good condition with a few light marks and scratches, particularly beneath the soundhole and a few small lacquer chips around the binding (pictured).
The Faith Mars FRSB45 is part of Faith’s Classic Burst series and belongs to the Mars body line — a drop-shoulder dreadnought design, sometimes referred to as a slope-shoulder dreadnought. This body shape has more rounded upper shoulders compared to the traditional square-shouldered dreadnought, offering a slightly different tone and feel.
Top: Solid red cedar
Back and sides: Solid mahogany
Neck joint: 12th-fret body join (the neck meets the body at the 12th fret rather than the 14th, as on most dreadnoughts)
Fingerboard: Macassan figured ebony
Nut width: 45 mm (about 1 ¾ inches) — wider than average, which offers extra room for fingerstyle playing
Finish: High-gloss Classic Burst — a rich three-tone sunburst of amber, red, and deep brown
Bridge and headplate: Macassan figured ebony
Bracing: Quarter-sawn spruce X-bracing
Machine heads: Premium chrome tuners
The Mars FRSB45’s combination of cedar top and mahogany back and sides gives it a warm, rich, and balanced tone. The sound leans toward the lower midrange rather than bright highs, making it ideal for singer-songwriters, folk players, and fingerstylists who prefer a smooth, full voice.
The 12th-fret neck join positions the bridge closer to the center of the soundboard, enhancing resonance and producing a deeper, more open low end. The 45 mm nut width provides extra string spacing, great for intricate fingerpicking.
Despite being a full-sized dreadnought, the Mars FRSB45’s sloped shoulders make it slightly more ergonomic and comfortable to hold. The neck profile is medium and rounded, suitable for both strumming and fingerstyle. Its all-solid-wood construction means the tone matures beautifully over time.
Faith’s Classic Burst finish gives the guitar a premium, vintage-inspired appearance, with a deep gloss that highlights the natural grain of the woods. The ebony fittings and finely detailed rosette add to its elegant, handcrafted feel.
