This pre loved Stentor Andreas Zeller ¾ Cello is part of Stentor’s respected student line, crafted in Romania to European standards and ideal for young cellists. It has several signs of wear around the edges and requires a new bow. The case has seen better days but will certainly work as a temporary measure.
Made in Romania under Stentor’s Andreas Zeller series—built to European metrics for consistent construction and playability
Available in ¾ size, designed for players roughly 9–12 years old or around 137–147 cm tall .
Top: Solid spruce with even grain.
Back & Sides: Solid maple (note: some older units used laminated maple).
Fittings: Ebony fingerboard, pegs, and tailpiece; typically finished in golden‑brown varnish
Standard Setup: Includes soundpost, bridge, and sometimes fine tuners in outfit versions.
Tone: Warm, rounded, and resonant—produces a pleasing, mellow sound that develops and “warms up” with playing
Projection: Clear and well-defined, suitable for classroom, ensemble, and solo beginner performance
Some users note it can be a bit “boomy” or “woody” compared to lighter spruce models .
Luthier setups often include peg adjustment, nut/fingerboard finishing, string height, and professional stringing
Frequently equipped with integrated fine tuners on the tailpiece for easier tuning, a plus for young students.
Young learners entering grades 1–3.
Those transitioning from a beginner back-of-shop cello.
Ensemble contexts where a warm, steady tone is beneficial.
The Andreas Zeller ¾ Cello from Stentor is a lovely student instrument: solid wood construction, teacher-endorsed tone, and quality build—just right for school-aged musicians. While it may start a bit heavy in tone, it responds well to professional setup and regular playing.
