Epiphone has once again partnered with the Gibson Custom Shop to present the Inspired by Gibson Custom 1963 Firebird V—an accurate recreation of the iconic model originally designed by legendary automotive stylist Ray Dietrich. Introduced in 1963, the Firebird™ marked Gibson’s first neck-through-body electric guitar and quickly became a favorite across multiple genres. Renowned artists such as blues icon Johnny Winter, Keith Richards and Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, and Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music all embraced its distinctive sound and design.

The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom 1963 Firebird V brings vintage-correct specifications to a more accessible price point. It features a 9-ply neck-through construction crafted from mahogany and walnut, paired with mahogany body wings. At the headstock, Kluson® planetary “banjo” tuners provide stable tuning, while an Epiphone ABR-1 bridge and a newly redesigned Maestro™ Vibrola™ with an engraved Epiphone logo handle string anchoring and vibrato duties.

Premium electronics complete the package, including Gibson USA Firebird mini humbucker™ pickups with Alnico 5 magnets, CTS® potentiometers, Mallory™ capacitors, and Switchcraft® components throughout. Together, these elements deliver the unmistakable look, feel, and tone of a classic Firebird V. An Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom hardshell case is included for protection and transport.
