This is what Epiphone say about the Les Paul Standard 60s:
Genuine ’60s Les Paul style, sound, and playability—ready for any stage
Epiphone’s partnership with Les Paul dates back to 1940, when he crafted one of the earliest solidbody electric guitars after hours at the original Epiphone factory in Manhattan. That groundbreaking instrument—famously called “the Log”—laid the foundation for the Les Paul™ Standard, widely regarded as one of the most iconic electric guitars ever made.
The Les Paul Standard 60s models in the Epiphone Inspired by Gibson™ Collection capture the essence of early-1960s Les Pauls in both look and tone. They’re built with a mahogany body and maple top, while translucent finishes showcase an added AAA flame maple veneer for a classic flame-top appearance. A mahogany neck with a laurel fretboard features pearloid trapezoid inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets, and a slim, fast 60s SlimTaper™ profile for smooth playability.
Reliable Grover® Rotomatic® tuners and a Graph Tech® nut keep tuning stable, letting you focus on playing instead of constant adjustments. Powering the guitar is a matched set of Epiphone Probucker™ pickups— a Probucker 2 at the neck and a slightly hotter Probucker 3 at the bridge—each paired with its own volume and tone controls using CTS® potentiometers for precise, vintage-inspired control.
