Epiphone’s enduring partnership with Les Paul began in 1940, when he built one of the world’s first solidbody electric guitars while working nights at Epiphone’s original Manhattan factory. That pioneering instrument, famously known as “The Log,” became the blueprint for the Les Paul™ Standard—an icon many regard as the greatest electric guitar ever made.
The Les Paul Standard 60s models from the Epiphone Inspired by Gibson™ Collection faithfully capture the look, feel, and tone of early 1960s Les Pauls. Each guitar features a mahogany body topped with a maple cap, while translucent finishes reveal an added AAA flame maple veneer for the unmistakable flame-top appearance.
A mahogany neck with a fast, comfortable 60s SlimTaper™ profile is paired with a laurel fretboard featuring pearloid trapezoid inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets for smooth, effortless playability. At the headstock, Grover® Rotomatic® tuners and a Graph Tech® nut provide exceptional tuning stability, keeping your focus on performance.
Electronics include a perfectly matched set of Epiphone Probucker™ humbuckers, with a Probucker 2 in the neck position and a slightly hotter Probucker 3 at the bridge. Each pickup is wired to its own dedicated volume and tone controls using CTS® potentiometers for precise tonal control.
