The Epiphone Riviera is one of the brand's most iconic semi-hollow electric guitars. Originally introduced in the early 1960s, it has become a favourite among musicians across a wide range of genres, with notable players including Robben Ford, Otis Rush, Lou Reed, and Nick Valensi of The Strokes.
This modern version stays true to the Riviera's classic heritage, featuring the renowned ES-style semi-hollow body, a pair of powerful mini humbuckers, the distinctive Frequensator tailpiece, and the signature three-layer pickguard. Combining vintage-inspired looks with modern playability, it delivers timeless tone and exceptional performance.
The Riviera features a layered maple body, including the top, back, and sides, providing bright, articulate tones with excellent resonance and natural acoustic character. A solid maple centre block enhances sustain while helping to reduce unwanted feedback at higher volumes.
A comfortable mahogany neck adds warmth and richness to the overall sound and is fitted with a smooth Indian laurel fingerboard. The rounded "C" neck profile feels comfortable in the hand, making it suitable for both vintage enthusiasts and modern players, while the 22 medium jumbo frets allow for effortless bends and expressive vibrato.
Equipped with a pair of Epiphone PRO Mini Humbucker pickups, the Riviera delivers the distinctive punch and clarity that has defined the model for decades. These hum-cancelling pickups produce rich harmonic detail, tight lows, and focused mids, making the guitar equally suited to blues, jazz, indie, classic rock, and alternative styles.
High-quality hardware ensures dependable performance on stage and in the studio. Vintage Deluxe tuning machines provide excellent tuning stability, while the Graph Tech NuBone nut improves sustain and tonal consistency. Completing the package is Epiphone's LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge, which enhances resonance and makes restringing quick and straightforward.
