As part of the Inspired by Gibson™ Collection, the Epiphone SG Standard has been updated and refined to deliver even more of what players love. A true rock icon, the SG™ has been embraced by legends across generations and genres — from Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Eric Clapton, and George Harrison to Robbie Krieger, Angus Young, Tony Iommi, and many more.
The Epiphone SG Standard features the classic double-cutaway, contoured mahogany body that provides seamless access to all 22 frets. A glued-in mahogany neck enhances sustain and resonance, while the fast-playing SlimTaper™ C-profile offers comfort and speed. The bound laurel fingerboard is adorned with pearloid trapezoid inlays and features 22 medium jumbo frets on a 12" radius — ideal for both smooth chord work and expressive string bending.
Hardware is rock-solid: Grover® Rotomatic® tuners and a Graph Tech® nut offer excellent tuning stability, while the LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece ensure precise intonation and sustain.
At the heart of the SG Standard are a pair of Epiphone’s acclaimed ProBucker™ pickups — a ProBucker 2 in the neck and a slightly hotter ProBucker 3 in the bridge — delivering that classic, vintage SG tone with warmth, bite, and clarity. Each pickup has its own volume and tone control, with a three-way toggle switch offering versatile tonal options to suit any style.
