A Hard-Rocking Tribute to Slash’s Iconic Stage Guitar
Fans of Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver will instantly recognize the guitar Slash calls "Jessica." Since 1988, Jessica has been Slash’s go-to stage guitar, and now Gibson is offering a modern version inspired by his legendary instrument. Originally a factory second, the original Jessica was one of two Les Paul™ guitars sent to Slash in the late '80s, and it’s been with him ever since.
The new Jessica model features a three-piece plain maple top on a non-weight-relieved mahogany body, paired with a mahogany neck and a vintage-style 50s neck profile for an authentic feel. It’s powered by a pair of Custom Burstbucker™ pickups with Alnico 2 magnets, wired with Orange Drop® capacitors for rich, dynamic tone. Though the original was a bright Cherry Sunburst, Slash had Jessica refinished over the years, and the new model pays tribute with a gloss nitrocellulose Honey Burst with Red Back finish, minus the heavy road wear of the original.
Slash’s signature is etched on the truss rod cover, and Schaller Strap Locks come preinstalled. The guitar also includes some exclusive extras: a Slash signature pick set, a USA leather strap, a multi-tool, and a blank truss rod cover—all packed in a hardshell case for safekeeping.
