This pre loved Fender Mexican Standard Stratocaster made in 2000 (often called MIM Standard Strat) is a classic, mid-priced Strat designed to deliver traditional Fender style and tone with solid build quality. It is in good condition with the usual wear that one would expect of a guitar this age. It has some tarnishing to the hardware, some fading to the scratch plate and still has the protective film on the guitars back plate. It is also missing the trem arm.

Origin and era

  • Made in Ensenada, Mexico at Fender’s Mexican factory.

  • Serial numbers from 2000 typically begin with “MZ0”.

Body and construction

  • Alder body with the familiar Stratocaster double-cutaway shape.

  • Polyurethane finish in Black

  • Bolt-on maple neck with a modern “C” profile.

  • 21-fret fingerboard, maple.

  • 9.5″ radius, modern feel compared with vintage Strats.

  • Synthetic bone nut.

Hardware

  • 6-screw vintage-style tremolo bridge with bent steel saddles.

  • Sealed Fender tuners (die-cast).

  • Chrome hardware throughout.

Electronics

  • Three ceramic single-coil pickups (hotter output than vintage Alnico types).

  • Standard Strat wiring:

    • 5-way selector switch

    • Master volume

    • Two tone controls (neck & middle pickups)

  • Bright, punchy Strat tone with slightly more output and edge than vintage models.

Playability and feel

  • Comfortable modern neck profile suited to many styles.

  • Medium-jumbo frets make bends easy.

Tone character

  • Clean: bright, glassy Strat chime.

  • Overdriven: sharper, more aggressive than vintage Alnico pickups due to ceramic magnets.

  • Positions 2 & 4 give the classic “quack.”
