This pre loved 2018 Fender Mexican Standard Telecaster represents the final run of the iconic "MIM Standard" series before it was replaced by the Player Series in mid-2018. Built in Ensenada, Mexico, it is a highly regarded, no-nonsense workhorse guitar known for delivering classic Fender twang and excellent value. It's in good condition with just a few small dings (pictured)

Electronics & Hardware
Unlike the models that succeeded it, the 2018 Standard features higher-output ceramic pickups rather than Alnico magnets.
- Pickups: Dual Standard Single-Coil Tele Pickups with ceramic magnets, shielded to reduce 60-cycle hum.
- Controls: Master Volume, Master Tone, and a 3-position blade switch.
- Bridge: Modern 6-Saddle Strings-Through-Body bridge rather than the vintage 3-saddle design, allowing for precise individual string intonation.
- Tuning Machines: Fender Standard cast/sealed tuners.
- Aesthetics: Features knurled chrome control knobs, a 3-ply parchment or black pickguard, and a 70s-style transition headstock logo.
Sonic Character & Feel
- The Sound: The ceramic pickups make this version sound slightly "hotter" and more aggressive than vintage Teles. The neck pickup is dark and warm, while the bridge pickup delivers a sharp, cutting, and steely "twang" that punches through a mix.
- The Feel: The Modern "C" neck is relatively thin without feeling like a shredder guitar, making it highly approachable for all hand sizes. It has a solid weight to it, typically heavier than a Stratocaster but lighter than a Les Paul.
Because it was the final iteration of a decades-long production run, the 2018 MIM Standard benefits from highly refined CNC manufacturing consistency and serves as an ideal platform for custom upgrades.
