This guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Traditional made in the USA in 2011. The Traditional model was designed to bring back more classic Les Paul features compared to the more modern “Standard” versions of the time. It has locking machine heads and some cool aging to the gold finish which adds to the vibe. There is a small chip on the headstock and some light playing marks on the back. Includes a hardcase.
Body and construction
Solid mahogany body with a carved maple top
Typically non-weight-relieved or traditionally weight-relieved, making it heavier than modern Les Pauls
Set mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard
22 frets, trapezoid inlays
This model leans toward the heavier, more “old-school” Les Paul feel.
Pickups and electronics
Usually fitted with ’57 Classic and ’57 Classic Plus humbuckers
Traditional wiring with separate volume and tone controls
Warm, vintage-style output rather than high-gain modern voicing
These pickups are known for smooth mids, rounded highs, and a classic PAF-style character.
Neck and playability
Rounded neck profile (thicker than slim-taper models)
Comfortable for players who prefer a fuller neck
Stable tuning with a standard Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece
Finish and appearance
Typically available in classic finishes like Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Honey Burst, or Tobacco Burst
High-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer
Cream binding on body and neck

Thick, warm, and sustaining tone
Strong low-mid presence
Excellent for blues, classic rock, and hard rock
Cleans up well with volume control adjustments
Position in the Gibson range
The Les Paul Traditional sits between modern Standard models and reissue/vintage lines. It focuses on:
Simpler electronics
More traditional construction
Classic tone rather than modern versatility
This 2011 Gibson Les Paul Traditional is a USA-made, vintage-leaning Les Paul with a solid build, classic humbuckers, and a thicker neck profile. It’s known for delivering the traditional Les Paul sound—warm, full, and sustaining—without modern features like coil-splitting or advanced electronics.
