Pre Loved Orange Rockerverb 50 III Head MkIII
In an excellent used condition - No major damage to the tolex covering, just the usual black marks synonymous with Orange Amps - all from normal use / storage. Fully tested and working as it should - a couple of the pots are slightly dusty / scratchy, which does not affect the sound when the control is set.
The ultimate two-channel 50W head, now perfected.
Marking its 10th anniversary in 2014, the Rockerverb series proves that a reliable workhorse amp can excel in every way. The original Rockerverb was our first true “high-gain” amp, delivering a distinctive sound that quickly earned a loyal following among the heavy music crowd. Its unmatched versatility and reliability, however, made it a staple for touring musicians and session players, both on the road and in the studio.
The Rockerverb 50 Mk III head takes over a decade of user feedback and incorporates several design improvements. For the first time in the Rockerverb series, the Mk III offers selectable output power options, giving you control over headroom and volume. The 50W version can drop to 25W in half-power mode, and the upgraded mains transformers provide enhanced low-end response and clarity. Plus, the Mk III features the same footswitchable attenuator that has been a hit with users of our Thunderverb and Dual Dark amps.
The Clean channel has been revoiced on the Mk III for a more chiming tone while preserving the warmth and vintage vibe of a non-master-volume amp. These models now offer even more headroom than their predecessors, and the valve-driven spring reverb has a wider range with a brighter decay. Add in several other subtle upgrades, and you’ve got the best-sounding, most feature-rich Rockerverb yet.
The Rockerverb MkIII remains designed with the heavy hitter in mind—perfect for those who need plenty of punch to fill a big stage. However, we understand that not every gig requires that level of power. Sometimes you don’t need to push a full 50W head. That’s why this amp now features variable wattage, allowing you to switch between 50W and 30W. On top of that, it’s equipped with an attenuator, taken directly from the Thunderverb series. Positioned after the master volume, this design lets you achieve full tube saturation without the need to crank the volume to ear-splitting levels.
We heard your feedback about the clean channel being a bit too dark, so we’ve made adjustments. The MkIII comes with a completely revoiced clean circuit that offers a brighter, more chime-like tone. You’ll also find significantly more headroom before it begins to break up, making it even more useful at higher volumes without losing its clarity.
The spring reverb on past Rockerverb models was solid, but the MkIII takes it up a notch. Powered by a 12AT7/ECC81 valve, this updated reverb offers a wider range and richer tone, making it perfect for those who want subtle yet captivating effects. And, of course, the reverb is footswitchable, just like everything else on this amp.
