The Warwick Corvette Standard is a celebrated model in Warwick's Corvette series, introduced in 1995 as a successor to the Corvette Proline. Crafted originally in Germany and later produced in Korea, this bass stood out for its bright, raw tone and solid build, becoming particularly favoured among rock and metal bassists.
Body & Neck
The Corvette Standard features a bubinga body for rich resonance and tonal character, paired with a bolt-on neck. Some variants also feature 3- or 4-piece laminated necks for added stability.
Fingerboard & Frets
It sports a wenge fingerboard, and is fitted with 24 jumbo frets made of hardened bronze or brass alloy. Warwick’s Invisible Fretwork Technology (IFT) ensures smooth fret ends for enhanced playability.
Hardware
Equipped with Just-A-Nut III brass nuts and Warwick’s own machine heads, all models include the sturdy 2-piece Warwick 3D bridge and security strap locks.
Pickups & Preamp
Most Corvette Standard models feature MEC J-style pickups, often in an active configuration with 2-band preamps.
Controls
Control layouts typically include master volume, balance, and treble/bass (stacked or separate), giving rich tonal shaping options.
