The Donner Yellow Fall is a highly popular, budget-friendly micro effects pedal that delivers classic analogue-style delay sounds. It uses a pure analogue bucket-brigade style circuit topology to produce warm, organic echo repeats that naturally degrade and soften with each repetition.
Control Layout and Tone Shaping
The pedal features a simple, intuitive three-knob layout that allows users to quickly dial in their desired echo effects:
- Time Knob: Adjusts the delay time, ranging from a quick 20 milliseconds to a maximum of 620 milliseconds.
- Echo Knob: Controls the volume level of the delay repeats, blending the wet effect signal with the dry guitar signal.
- F.Back Knob: Dictates the feedback, which determines the number of delay repetitions. Turning this up all the way pushes the analog circuit into self-oscillation for experimental, swelling soundscapes.
Circuitry and Enclosure
The internal analog circuit architecture is designed to keep your original guitar signal clean while adding vintage warmth to the repeats. It includes true bypass switching to ensure that your instrument signal passes through completely transparently and unaltered when the pedal is disengaged. The entire circuit is housed in a durable aluminum-alloy miniature chassis with a prominent status LED indicator.
Power Requirements
Because of its space-saving micro dimensions, the unit does not possess an internal 9V battery compartment. It requires a standard external DC 9V power supply adapter with center-negative polarity.
