MPN: SHFUELTANK
£65.00
This pre loved T-Rex Classic FuelTank is a multi-output power supply designed for guitar pedalboards, featuring three isolated sections: 9V DC, 12V DC, and 12V AC and is in great condition and includes power cable and five DC patch cables and one 5 way daisy chain. It also has Velcro attached to the bottom ready to be fixed to your pedal board.
It eliminates the need for batteries and reduces cable clutter, allowing guitarists to focus on playing rather than power management. It delivers a total of 1,500 mA through ten outputs, making it capable of powering multiple pedals reliably for consistent performance.
Its compact design allows it to fit easily on most pedalboards, including the T-Rex ToneTrunk series, and it comes with all necessary cables for setup.
Two of the outputs provide isolated 12V power—one DC and one AC—making it suitable for pedals that require either type of supply. The remaining outputs provide 9V DC power, with shared ground across those outputs.
When powering pedals, two key factors must be considered: voltage and current draw. Each pedal requires a specific voltage, typically 9V or 12V, though some require 18V. This information is usually found in the pedal’s manual or on the device itself. Supplying lower voltage may result in reduced or no sound, while excessive voltage can damage the pedal.
Current consumption, measured in milliamps (mA), determines how much power a pedal draws. Simple pedals often use 20–40 mA, while more complex or digital units can require 100 mA to over 1,000 mA.
The FuelTank Classic allows multiple 9V or 12V pedals to be powered from a single output using daisy-chain cables, provided their combined current does not exceed the output limit. Pedals requiring higher current or different voltage configurations may require other FuelTank models or specific adapter cables.
It also supports pedals requiring 12V AC power, such as certain delay units, through its dedicated AC output.
Important considerations include polarity, as most pedals use center-negative power, and compatibility with higher-voltage requirements, which may necessitate different FuelTank models. Additionally, unlike fully isolated modern power supplies, some outputs share grounding, which can occasionally introduce noise depending on the setup.
The FuelTank Classic is built with a transformer-based design, variable mains input (115/230V), and internal fuse protection, emphasizing durability and stable power delivery.
Overall, it is designed as a robust, all-in-one power solution for traditional pedalboards requiring multiple voltage options and reliable, noise-conscious operation.
